The following is the recipe for the classic cheeseburger. The patties are made with ground chuck and onion powder, seasoned only with pepper and salt. Once the patties have cooked on one side, flip them and top with two slices of American cheese. Place each patty inside a hamburger bun and add lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, pickles, and ketchup.
PREPARATION
Step 1/4
In a large bowl gently mix ground beef and onion powder, then shape into six patties that are slightly larger than your hamburger buns and have a dent in the center.
Step 2/4
Heat your grill, grill pan, or a cast iron skillet over high heat, season the patties liberally with salt and pepper, then place them on the grill to cook.
Step 3/4
Cook for about two minutes until the crust on the bottom has formed. Flip the burgers once you can lift them up easily then add two cheese slices to each. Cook for another two to three minutes.
Step 4/4
Remove from the grill and transfer into buns, add the desired garnishings and condiments like lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and ketchup, then serve.
