Our Story

Tablelands Farm to Fork was founded by Barbara, Ainslie, Ray, and Trevor or BART Trading.

In 2022, as we witnessed cattle prices plummet, we realised that we needed to make a change to save our beef operations. Meat prices were outrageous, and farmers were receiving less than their production costs for their animals. It was a make-or-break reality check for us and others.
Since then, we have supported more than a dozen farmers on the Tablelands, helping them secure stability in their operations. Best of all, we supply some of the finest grass-fed beef from the Tablelands at affordable prices. It’s all about locals supporting locals!

Symbiosis: The Art of Living Together

With our plan in place, we launched Tablelands Farm to Fork with a simple goal: to transform the way people eat by raising beef responsibly while regenerating the earth and caring for the land. This approach has resulted in lower production costs by eliminating the need for conventional fertilisers, vaccinations, and excessive spraying.
This ethos continues to guide our work today, which now spans several farms throughout the Atherton Tablelands. We believe we can achieve our mission by leveraging our experience and maintaining strong relationships with other local farmers.

Our devoted Team

We are a close-knit family team, each of us bringing our own unique strengths to the table. Together, we are passionately committed to transforming the way we farm and educating others about the beauty of sustainable beef production.

We are deeply invested in nurturing our land, revitalising our soil, and ensuring the health of our animals. We’re amazed to witness the transformation of one of our farms, which, after years of conventional farming and overgrazing, has blossomed into a vibrant ecosystem filled with lush, diverse grasses, legumes, and clover.

Most importantly, it welcomes back the wildlife and insects—dung beetles, butterflies, and birds, along with the occasional tree kangaroo and platypus.

We take immense pride to be regenerative farmers, allowing the land to heal and flourish while we work alongside it. Our connection to nature fulfils our dream of creating a better world for our future generation. It’s not just farming for us; it’s a heartfelt commitment.

... and we're only getting started ...

Giving a fork

After the devastating cyclone Jasper struck Cairns, we quickly recognised the impact it had. We came together to donate meat to those in need, and witnessing the heartfelt emotions now drives us to continue supporting local charities and community events.

We are committed to supporting programs and local events. In 2026, our goal is to open our farm, enabling us to collaborate with organisations that assist disadvantaged individuals and families, and to share the joy that farming brings.
